Firearms and Personal Protection Classes
IOA Enterprises has experienced military and law enforcement trained instructors. All instructors are NRA certified. We aim to give both the new and experienced shooter the skills and knowledge they need to responsibly own firearms. If you own or are considering buying a firearm, you owe it to yourself to take one or more of these classes. The knowledge and information you learn will be well worth the price.
Basic Pistol Class – 4 Hours
This class is for everyone. Designed to help the new, beginner, or infrequent shooter become a better, safer shooter. Learn in a relaxed atmosphere with a small class on private property. If you have never fired a handgun, or want to become a better with handling the handgun you own, this class if for you. This class teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of handgun types, ammunition and proper shooting techniques. Instruction in the classroom is given, but the majority of time is dedicated to live fire shooting. You will need to bring the following materials:
- Firearm – Bring manual as well
- Ammunition: 50 – 100 rounds
- Hearing & Eye Protection
*A handgun can be rented for $20.00 if you do not have one. This is a way to try many handguns before you buy.

NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home Course
Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential for safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding individual’s right to self-defense. This is an eight-hour course. Students should expect to shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition. Students will learn basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, how to choose a handgun for self-defense, and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection In The Home handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, the Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, and course completion certificate.
NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home course is for law-abiding adult citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law, and experienced shooters (shooters able to show mastery of the basic skills of safe gun handling, shooting a group, zeroing the firearm, and cleaning the firearm) to maximize what can be learned from this course. Proof of shooting experience can be one of the following: NRA Basic Pistol Course Certificate, NRA First Steps Course Certificate, NRA Pistol Competitive Shooting Qualification card, military DD 214 with pistol qualification, or passing the Pre-Course Assessment, or approval of the instructor. For this class you will need to have your own firearm, and a strong side holster. At least two extra magazines or speed loaders. At least 200 rounds of factory ammunition. NRA Refuse To Be A Victim® Seminars
This 4 hour seminar includes classroom instruction on a variety of crime prevention strategies, from criminal psychology to automobile crimes to cyber crime. Seminars can vary in length, and may be modified to suit the needs of a particular audience. This is not a firearms instruction course, and does not include instruction in physical combat self-defense. Seminars teach about common weaknesses that criminals may take advantage of, and teaches a variety of corrective measures that are practical, inexpensive, and easy to follow. Strategies include home security, carjack avoidance techniques, cyber safety, and use of personal safety devices. Personal protection items such as OC spray and Tasers are discussed. Important information that may save your life in the event of an active shooter is given. Students will receive the Refuse To Be A Victim student handbook, NRA Refuse To Be A Victim® brochure, Refuse To Be A Victim® Firearms Supplement, and a course completion certificate.

Personal Protection Outside the Home
This is a Concealed Carry Course. This course builds on what you have already learned in the Basic and PPIH courses. This class teaches the knowledge, skills and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun to protect yourself and your family. A lot of information is covered on what you need to know to be a law-abiding citizen. We review ethical, legal and tactical considerations for using your pistol in self defense outside of your home. We fight how we train and this class will put your knowledge and shooting skills to the test. You must develop a defensive mindset; avoiding a confrontation altogether is the best way to win a deadly encounter. This is a two day course. You must bring a strong side holster that covers the trigger guard and 3 magazines or speed loaders for your firearm. You will need 300 rounds of factory ammo, eye and ear protection and appropriate range clothing. You must have completed the Personal Protection in the Home class, or approval from the instructor, before signing up for this class. The skills in this class are advanced so you must be able to draw, handle and fire your firearm in a safe manner. Cost for this class is $250.00. Sign up at Acme Ammo or email email@example.com
This course is for both the beginning shooter and the guys and gals that think they can shoot. Bring your kids, we will teach them the fundamentals, and teach you what MOA really means. We will shoot a variety of firearms. We will have fun with .22’s and reach out and touch something with larger calibers. You can bring your own rifle and factory ammo if you wish. We also have several rifles to rent, if you just want to try something new. Students will receive the Basic Rifle Student handbook, and a course completion certificate. Cost for this class is $75.00 for adults and $25.00 for children under 16.
This class teaches the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for owning and using a shotgun safely. Through this class, the student will learn about shotgun parts, different types of shotguns and the safe operation of a shotgun. There will be both traditional and defensive shooting activities. We will have several shotguns to rent, or you can bring your own. Student will receive the Basic Shotgun Student Handbook and a Course Completion Certificate. Cost for this class is $75.00 for adults and $25.00 for children under 16.
